About
I was born in 1968 in Gulfport, Mississippi. I graduated with a BA, emphasis in graphic design from the University of Mississippi in 1991. After graduating, I worked in advertising as a junior art director from 1992-1996.
In 2000, I started a decorative painting and mural business. As I reacquainted myself with drawing and painting, I slowly found myself experimenting with different mediums.
I revisited painting with oils and acrylics, added encaustic painting and collage in to the mix but ultimately just kept pushing paint in different directions.
In 2011, I added gouache to the inquiry. I felt that gouache allowed me to return to my love of drawing and design but also allowed me to develop another untraditional method of layering a medium.
My first gallery showing was in 2004, where I participated in an annual group show at David Lusk Gallery in Memphis. I have continued to show my work in galleries around the US.
My art has also allowed me to design wallpaper for The Land of Nod, The Memphian Hotel and a bespoke paper used exclusively for Greg Baudoin Interior Design. In addition, I have also done illustration work for The Tie Bar.
